Since we did not have the lesson n Monday (for that is was a public holiday), Tuesday was the first and the last day of this lesson this week. On the lesson on Tuesday, (12th Feb) we got to learn the details of referencing and a useful application called Zotero.
Regarding the reference test, since I was the only one in the class who references in Harvard style. I was surprised by the fact Harvard style is only used at Harvard University. Although I used to think I was fine, some of it was wrong. I wondered about whether we should put in the last accessed/viewed date for online sources since I was previously taught so. It would be best if I can find this out too. In terms of facts on referencing itself, there are 4 main types;
-MLA-Capital or not does not matter
-APA-First letter is Capital, everything else is not capital
-Chicago
-Harvard
We will be using MLA, so I probably will change my referencing style throughout the lessons. I have also learned today that bibliography is written in alphabetical order.
Another thing Mr.Paterson covered in the last lesson was an app called Zetero. It is a referencing app. Until before, I use to use a website called "citethisforme.com" which works similarly to Zetero. We will be going into the details of this app from next week and on. I am actually very excited about this, as I think it will be very useful in the future if I can utilize this app.
