How to keep the audiences attracted...

In the lesson on Tuesday, I faced a problem; the habit of saying "like", "Ummm..." and "err..". These are called filing words, which will lose the audience's attraction just by using them even once. I have a habit of using such over and over again. I must overcome it, otherwise, I'll not be able to make a good presentation. In order to face this, my friend and I decided to do a game, where we monitor each other's talk and count how many times we say the NG words. The number of times one says the word, it equals to one push up. This game is working very well for me since in 3 days, I only said them 6 times in total! (I used to say 4 likes in a set of sentences, so a big step forward ^_^).
The other thing I learnt was about the closing of the presentation. According to what Mr.Paterson said, it is a better idea to leave one message after the Q&A section, so that the main message is well conveyed to the audience. I consented with the idea that "Q&A is not in control of our hands so we cannot tell if the question will be easy to answer, or something we don't know". Good presentations can keep a good look towards the audiences. That's why we must give the 'good impression' in order to make our presentation successful.

In terms of planning our own presentation, we decided the orders we are speaking and what kind of main topic we should focus on. Momoko will be the first speaker, talking a little about Ryosei's topic, along with him, since his topic was the most familiar one to her, then Chisaki will be talking about her topic, and then finally, I will be talking about my topic with the conclusion at the end. I am quite nervous about concluding the idea, as it is not wrong to say everyone's work's success all depends on me. I would like to practice as much as possible and be a good presenter. I am not sure about this, but if we could do a practice go before the deadline, and if Mr.Paterson could give us some tips and improvements we should make, it'll be better as it is our first time to handle presentations this way.
