On June 11th, we looked into a very disappointing fact. It was about how the relationship between countries can lead to misunderstanding / wrong report of the truth. In the website called "Ifamericansknew", we came to face the fact where more Palestinians are hurt/killed but not even being reported and the Israelis who are less hurt are reported than the actual amount. Here, the media reported as if the Israelis were the victim, just because America has a good relationship with Israel. I felt this is an very unfair thing, because truth is not reported as a truth, due to the filter called relationship. I found the author really clever when all the info. gotten was from Israel in order to make THEM understand that this is the truth. More people should get to know about websites as such.
When we looked into the system of UN, at the same time, I honestly was surprised this would come in, in this topic. Although I knew the system, until before, I never really thought this is an unfair thing. However, through today's lesson, my thought towards UN is changing a little, not fully trusting the system in the UN. Veto should not be taking place first of all, but also the fact P5 does not change is weird too. It is simply unequal. At least, P5 should not be the shape like how it is now.
Overall, through today's lesson, I got to understand the importance of getting a truthful information. My question now is "How can we do so?'. I am hoping to find an answer to this soon enough.
